Store Manager

We are seeking an experienced, hands-on Store Manager to lead our outdoor apparel and lifestyle, brick and mortar store in Newport, RI. This role is ideal for a people-first leader who loves the outdoors and aims to create exceptional in-store experiences. The Store Manager is responsible for driving sales, building a strong team culture, and serving as a brand ambassador within the local community and visitor market.

Key Holder

Big Weather Gear is seeking a motivated full-time Key Holder to join our team. Full-time and part-time positions are available! Enjoy a flexible schedule, paid vacation, and great employee discounts while working alongside a fun and supportive team. The Key Holder’s responsibilities are to take an active role in overseeing the opening and closing of the store, providing leadership to the staff by maintaining the highest level of store standards, assisting the Owner and Assistant Manager, acting as manager when the Owner and Assistant Manager are not in the store, delegating tasks amongst sales associates, and maintaining store operational policies and procedures. 

Sales Associate:

Big Weather Gear is seeking motivated Sales Associates to join our team! Work alongside a group of energetic and fun team members while enjoying perks such as employee discounts, a flexible schedule, and working fun events such as the Newport International Boat Show. Our products are known for keeping you dry, warm, and comfortable no matter the conditions or sport. Located in the heart of historic downtown Newport, we offer outdoor gear that can take you from the slopes or sails to a happy hour still looking chic and sharp. We pride ourselves on our customer service and product knowledge. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Greeting customers and offering exceptional customer service
  • Receiving merchandise/stocking product – must be able to lift boxes.
  • Merchandising and working with technical apparel and footwear
  • Operating point of sale
  • Answering phone calls and processing special orders
  • Daily cleanup and organization

Big Weather Gear Team
